Life is full of adventures! Today we found that our main sewer line had collapsed and that we cannot stay there with no sewer, hence no water usage. Lord-willing, it will be fixed tomorrow; until then we are sacked out in a hotel room.
Adventures
My boys love trail mix. The first thing they do when they get a handful of trail mix is meticulously sort it out - raisins, nuts, and M&Ms. Then by nut type and M&M color. They are convinced that the Macadamia nuts are "doughnuts." I don't know where they get their organizational skills - it certainly wasn't from me. :-)
Ezra (my almost-3-year-old) saw a ceiling fan in motion, perhaps for the first time, today. He evidently thought that it looked like a wheel, because he said, "Papa! Look at that light! Its driving!"
Often, when we are in heavy traffic after driving awhile, Enoch (age 4) will ask, "Are we in New York City?" I guess our trip to NYC several months ago made an impression on him in at least one way - the traffic!
I praise the Lord for the opportunities that He gives me to witness, even though my health isn't very good. Sometimes the hardest part is getting an audience. So, I figured that I had it made, since someone is required to watch and listen to me 24/7 right now while I'm in the hospital. So, whoever it is on the other side of the camera got to hear me read aloud the first 11 chapters of Proverbs tonight. 😊
I'm off to see the doctor
The wonderful neu-rol-o-gist
Because because because because because
Because of the seizures and fainting and stuff
Seriously, though, praise the Lord that after months and months of being on the waiting list, they finally expedited my appointment! Hopefully we will know something within the next few hours.
Well, I lied. The food here is amazing! By default, they start every one on a "healthy" diet, so I had a salad and a reduced-sodium turkey breast for lunch (which was palatable). Then after the doctor came in today, they said they want me as stressed and unhealthy as possible while I'm here so that they can see as many seizures as possible. So I had the best chicken fried steak ever, mashed potatoes and gravy, a roll, a Coke, some veggies, and a huge fudge brownie for supper! The bad news is that I'm not allowed to sleep tonight, and I REALLY feel like sleeping now.

So I don't get to go to camp this year, but I do get to experience something similar to camp food all next week - hospital food! I look forward to a week of room service, complete with skim milk, reduced flavor jello, iceberg lettuce and low-calorie chocolate cardboard. Actually, I got to / had to experience the hospitals' cooking yesterday, and it was pretty good, at least compared to others.
So I'm back from my appointment. The neurologist has elevated my situation to urgent, and I will be admitted to the hospital in two weeks for several days so that they can do an extended EEG. He reaffirmed that I definitely have Epilepsy, and he is reviewing MRIs and trying to determine what type of Epilepsy I have.
I had a seizure during his exam. The hospitalization and EEG was expected to take several months to get me worked in, but He pulled some strings and told the scheduler that it was urgent, and so they got me in in two weeks! Praise God!
My sweet wife was discouraged earlier because she had been unable to get me a Father's Day gift (her sweet spirit is so much of a precious gift to me, though). However, she entered a Father's Day drawing at our bank, and was notified today that she had won me a 54-piece tool set. Now I know that those drawings are random, but I think that God 'fixed' this one for Krysta because of her wonderful attitude and constant hard work. I am so very grateful for the wife that God made just for me!
A funny thing happened the other night. I sat down in my recliner around 9pm and fell asleep. I woke up at 1am, standing in the kitchen, stirring a pot of spaghetti sauce. I had made spaghetti and meatballs from scratch in my sleep! So I woke Krysta up and we ate a midnight dinner, after which I promptly had a seizure. I was in so much pain from standing for so long!
The worst part about it is that it was the best sauce I have ever tasted, and I have no idea what I put in it!
